About Ambikapathy
Ambikapathy (1937) is a historic movie that revolves around Tamil poet kambar who rote Kambaramayanam, Kulothunga Chola, Kambar's son Ambikapathy (MKT Bhagavathar) and Chola Princess Amaravathy (M.R. Santhanalakshmi). Love blossoms between Ambikapathy and Amarapathi, but the King and social class differences attempt to separate the young lovers.
The film was a box office success and completed one year in the cinemas where it was screened. This film's success turned MKT Bhagavathar into the first superstar of Tamil Cinema.
