About Oomai Janangal
Oomai Janangal (1984) was based on D. Selvaraj's novel called "Theneer". The film was directed by Jayabharathi and Prapanchan wrote the dialogues for the film.
The film's story spans two generations and is of the lives of a father who works in a tea estate and gets killed in a labour protest and his son who later grows up to become the head of a major tea manufacturer but is ashamed of his roots and doesn't care about the labours who work under him.
